On behalf of the Universities of Palermo and Pisa, Italy, TCP International generated NUTS-2 car travel time matrices for 1991 between all regions within the EU27 territory. The 1991 road network was taken from the RRG GIS Database, a geodatabase of trans-European transport network covering entire Europe. This database already includes the historic development of the road networks in Europe since 1970, as well as outlines of their further development until 2030.
