The purpose of this study was to evaluate the Rural Travel and Transport Programme RTTP which is a component of the Sub-Saharan African Transport Policy Program.  RTTP  is a policy development program conducted in 19 African countries from 1992 to 2003, with a budget of nine million US$. The main goal of RTTP  was to assist countries to establish appropriate transport policies. The goal of this study was to evaluate RTTP according to the criteria of the Development Assistant Committee taking into account the criteria relevance, impacts, significance, effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability.
